At HIMSS20 next month, Nuance Communications, an AI-powered clinician information systems distributor, will launch new systems to the Nuance AI Marketplace for Diagnostic Imaging meant to provide a one-stop-shop for radiologists to evaluate and purchase AI models to improve their workflow.
The AI Market is similar to the app store – a digital marketplace that enables subscribers to buy applications, or, in the case of Nuance, AI models.
The aim is to link developers to radiologists, developing a direct line of communication to help build and enhance AI models to fulfill their evolving requirements and improve the functionality of algorithms from development to practice.
The AI Market provides radiologists with instruments for reading and reporting efficiencies, giving radiologists a unique alternative to integrate AI models from varied developers, partner on AI development and improvement, and ease administrative loads of physicians, stated Karen Holzberger, senior VP and general manager at Nuance Communications.
Nuance’s ambition for AI is a world where technology expands intelligence to relieve caregivers and care teams from the disturbances and complexities that get in the way of treating patients.
The healthcare sector can’t afford to disregard this problem, and AI is the optimal resolution for repetitive, routine scientific tasks that may be automated, liberating the physician from extensive documentation, she stated.
One challenge with artificial intelligence (AI) is giving suppliers the necessary tools to put AI in action in on a regular basis clinical practice by adding them in physicians’ workflows in ways acceptable to each medical specialty or division, Holzberger contended.
