Western Australia has reported 14 cases of coronavirus overnight bring the state’s tally to 495. 10 of those are West Australian cases, WA’s Health Minister Roger Cook stated Thursday.
The other four cases are related to the Artania cruise ship. The 14 individuals range from 29 to 73-years-old.
Seven of these are from cruise ships in total, three are related to abroad journey, three are close contacts, and one is under investigation.
Cook further launched a new mental health campaign in response to COVID-19 on Thursday.
The campaign is called “Be positive, be connected, be energetic”.
“We keep calling for individuals to practice social distancing; however, we would like them to maintain being socially connected,” he stated.
On Wednesday, WA declared it could be expanding testing criteria for the deadly coronavirus.
Anyone who has a fever of 38 degrees or has had one in recent days can now be tested.
That is as well as people presenting with acute respiratory signs such as a cough or shortness of breath.
In total, 34 Australians are in hospital in Western Australia with the coronavirus and 15 in ICU.
